The Money Signals: What to Look For
Money questions have their own distinct map in Qimen. A handful of symbols carry the weight of any wealth reading, and every scenario below is a different arrangement of the same shortlist. Learn these eight and you can follow any financial chart:

The grammar of a wealth reading is relational: how does the palace holding Life Door relate to your Day Stem palace? When the Life Door's palace generates yours, profit flows toward you naturally. When the relationship reverses, your palace generating the Life Door's, you can still profit, but it takes effort and capital outlay. The condition of Life Door's palace sets the ceiling: thriving means large returns, moderate means moderate returns, weak means thin margins or none at all.
How Money Charts Are Judged
Classical Qimen judges money questions through a layered framework. Once you understand the logic, every scenario below is just a special case of the same reasoning:
The core judgment. When Life Door sits in a thriving palace with auspicious formations, expect strong profit. In a moderately strong palace, expect moderate profit. Weak and stagnant means small returns or none at all. And if Life Door is weak and carries inauspicious formations, the chart warns of outright loss. The worst case: when both Jiazi-Wu (your capital) and Life Door (your profit) are void, entombed (Entombment), or in reversal (Reversed Yin) with bad formations stacked on top, not only is there no profit, but trouble follows the money.
Timing the money. Where Jiazi-Wu and Life Door fall on the nine-palace grid tells you how fast money moves. Both in inner palaces (1, 3, 4, 8), money comes quickly and from nearby. One inner, one outer, slower, from further away. Both in outer palaces, slow and distant. A special shortcut: when Jiazi-Wu shares the same palace as Open Door, the money arrives fast.
The broker or agent. In deals involving a middleman, Partner is the intermediary. When Partner generates your palace, the broker is working in your favor. When Partner generates the other party's palace, the broker favors them. And when Partner is void or entombed, watch carefully; classical texts flag this as deceit or hidden fraud in the deal.
Scenario: Should I Make This Investment?

Business questions put the Open Door center stage. A thriving shop chart wants Open Door healthy for the venture itself and Life Door healthy for its revenue, with customers (Hour Stem) flowing in.

A partnership chart is explicitly two-sided: you versus the other party. The focus shifts from market conditions to the relationship between the two partners: who holds the leverage, who does the work, and where the profit actually lands.
